Here you will find links to many great motorcycle awareness resources and motorcycle safety resources on other sites. These sites are great sources of information both for riders and the operators of other vehicles sharing the road with motorcyclists.

Amercian Motorcyclist Association

American Motorcyclist – Since 1924, the AMA has protected the future of motorcycling and promoted the motorcycle lifestyle. AMA members come from all walks of life, and they navigate many different routes on their journey to the same destination: freedom on two wheels. As the world’s largest motorcycling organization, the AMA advocates for motorcyclists’ interests in the halls of local, state and federal government, the committees of international governing organizations and the court of public opinion.

Motorcycle Safety Foundation

Motorcycle Safety Foundation – “Since March 1973, the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) has set internationally recognized standards of excellence in motorcycle rider education and training. The MSF works with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), state governments, the military and other organizations to improve motorcyclist education, training and operator licensing.”

Web Bike World

Motorcycle Safety at web Bike World – “WebBikeWorld publishes peer-to-peer subjective opinions of motorcycle-related products that the authors think may be useful, unique or which might be of interest to others.” The site also publishes articles regarding rider safety, safety equipment and trends in rider protection. The site’s Motorcycle Safety link is but one of many sections into which the site is divided.

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration – “NHTSA is committed to providing the most accurate and complete information available to its customers, the American traveling public, in a helpful and courteous fashion. In all of our activities, we will strive to meet or beat our established deadlines for providing customer service.”

Motorcycle Safety SIte

Motorcycle Safety Site – “This site is focused on Motorcycle Safety. It has no brand bias of any kind. Indeed, by ‘motorcycle’ we mean any motorized two or three wheeled vehicle. It is our intention to provide information that will significantly reduce your odds of having an accident while riding your motorcycle. Snell Memorial Foundation – We don’t make helmets. We make them safer. The Snell Memorial Foundation, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to research, education, testing and development of helmet safety standards. Since its founding in 1957, Snell has been a leader in helmet safety in the United States and around the world.

National Motorists Association

The National Motorists Association – “The National Motorists Association (NMA) was founded in 1982 to represent and protect the interests of North American motorists.We want to drive what we want to drive, go where we want to go and in the process not be unwitting cannon fodder for self-serving government programs, over-bearing police departments or greedy courts”


National Association of State Motorcycle Safety Administrators – “The National Association of State Motorcycle Safety Administrators is dedicated to serving the needs and interests of state motorcycle safety administrators and programs by advocating motorcycle safety and fostering and promoting the exchange of ideas and resources.”

Share the Road Safely

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s “Share the Road Safely” site – “The Share the Road Safely program strives to improve the knowledge of all highway users to minimize the likelihood of a crash with a large truck, and reduce the consequences of those that do occur.”

The Governors’ Highway Safety Association

The Governors’ Highway Safety Association – “GHSA provides leadership and representation for the states to improve traffic safety, influence national policy and enhance program management.”

National Transportation Safety Board

National Transportation Safety Board – “The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is an independent U.S. Government agency responsible for investigation of accidents involving aviation, highway, marine, pipelines and railroads. They also watch over the military, and in case of accidents help them. It is charged by the U.S. Congress to investigate every civil aviation accident in the United States, as well as sensational accidents in other modes of transportation.”

National Safety Council

The National Safety Council – “The NSC was founded in 1913 and formally recognized as a safety leader by an Act of Congress in 1953 that granted a Congressional Charter to the National Safety Council. We are a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization and the only major national entity dedicated to safety of people in all aspects of their lives: at work, on the roads and in homes and communities.”

Distracted Driving Help

Distracted Driving Help – "The U.S. Department of Transportation is leading the effort to stop texting and cell phone use behind the wheel. Since 2009, they’ve held two distracted driving summits and encouraged states to adopt stricter laws. There have also been texting and cell phone bans for commercial drivers, as well as a number of campaigns in effort to raise public awareness about distracted driving."
