Weekend brings together 300 motorcycle safety partners in Ohio

August 20th, 2010

Ohio is scheduled to host the National Motorcycle Safety Conference Aug. 20-22.

The Ohio Department of Public Safety’s Ohio Traffic Safety will sponsor the 2010 National Association of State Motorcycle Safety Administrators Conference this Fri. through Sun. Motorcycle accident lawyers are optimistic about this year’s event, which is expected to host more than 300 motorcycle safety experts, program managers and instructors from across the country, as well as 60 professionals from Ohio.

Ohio is seeing an increase in motorcycle fatalities, according to motorcycle accident lawyers. Ohio has seen 112 motorcycle fatalities this year, an eight percent increase from 2009, so the conference comes at a crucial time for the state.

The conference will include educational and professional information and updates, as well as a group Motorcycle Awareness Ride. The goal is to discuss ideas, challenges and solutions for reducing motorcycle accidents and fatalities in Ohio and throughout the U.S, according to the SMSA.

Motorcycle Ohio, a division of the OTSO, works with the SMSA to focus on issues regarding motorcycle education, safety, training and awareness. The National Association of SMSA is an advocate for state motorcycle safety administrators and programs by promoting resources for motorcycle safety.

Motorcycle accident lawyers support safety efforts by the SMSA and other professional organizations to protect the future of motorcycle riding.

The conference will be held at the Doubletree Hotel, 175 Hutchinson Ave., Columbus, OH 43235.
